Exciting Developments

So she is still super cute AND her eyes are completely open. So while sightless she is looking more and more like a mini-bou. Last night in the first motherhood-strike since the "acceptance" Bou refused to heed the cries of the puppy- made for challenging sleep but all seemed well this morning.

Yesterday Bou had her staples removed. Even though she interpreted the vet tech as a deluxe belly rubber, her tummy still looks raw and red.

Here is a photo of Boulette just discovering the joys of motehrhood. The whelping box isn't her favorite place since the heat lamp keeps it a balmy (or for her pant-y) 90 degrees.

The Puppy is much bigger now.

Friend Sandy, in her reknown cleverness, has suggested the name Ling-Ling for the Puppy since her marking are remarkably similar to a certain Asia pseudo-bear.

NEWS flash!

According to dilligent puppy sitter- Chris- Bou's Puppy's eyes have begun opening. She is this much closer to having a temporary name! Look at the mornings photos to see if you can detect eye changes (I couldn't).

Home Alone

Today is my first day away from the puppy (someone has to earn the kibble) so thankfully my sister, who is at home with her 6 puppies, checked in on the puppy. here are the pictures she sent. Looks like all is well.

Boulette's Puppy is born

So for now she is just "puppy" and a guaranteed laugh a day. Her head which began as the size of a large gumball- perfectly round- has grown to golf ball size- still perfectly round but now the smallest whiskers in the world are peeking through.

i had toyed with names but decided to wait until her eyes open and her true personality shines through. Chris has decided to call her Kukiko- the newest, hottest, hippest Japanese toy to hit the market!

Boulette has become a great mom, covering the puppy with her body whenever anything dangerous comes near like my sister or a can of dog food sloppily dished into a bowl.
